Restore a tape
Hello everyone
I have a tape with some information that I got to restore, the tape was made with the fbackup command in a hp box. My question is that I have to restore in a Ibm box, how can I do this ? Thanks in advance |

hello - you will need to get familar with the AIX/HP interoperability commands -- I did try this 6-7 years ago , however ran into many issues ofcourse you will run into issues such as fbackup and frestore are not used in AIX and vice versa commds such as backup and restore are not used in HP... try standard unix utilities such as tar, dump, dd to start with. if you need to go deeper, there is a restore command in HP which works if you have a dump output from aix ..
