AIX - Cant ping

Hello all,

I have AIX 5.3 running on a B80. I have some problems with the network..

I cant ping it anymore, and i cant login locally b/c i also have a problem with the video card in it (another story). nslookup returns me the good address, but the machine is not responding at all. I might hace activated the DHCP on it bu i am not sure, i am quite new to AIX.

I tried to turn the macine off and connect the Network cable in the 2nd RJ-45 port but i cant get his IP address... I dont know which IP it got from the server.

When i tried to connect a videocard, it does not help me, all i see are all the leds on the monitor are goin crazy, they all blink.

I have the error code 581 displayed on the small LCD on the comp..

Any help is appreciated, i am about to go nuts. I

Thank.

581 means it is stuck configuring tcpip, so you won't get a login until the numbers move on from here, it should time out eventually and finish booting.

If IP does not configure correctly and you don't have the correct drivers installed for the graphics card, your only option is to use a dumb terminal (or a pc running a terminal emulator) connected to the serial port.
