installing aix 5.2 on p520

hello everybody.
Has anyone tried to install aix 5.2 on p520 machines. I've been trying but in the installation menu it says, "no disk found". I've used the same CD on a different 520 server and its working fine on it. Can anyone help, please?

Helo.
Make sure that you have assigned disks to your LPAR and that yout disk controller is supported by your OS version. Have a look at your HMC.
regards.

Thank you Grial.
But I'm using a standalone machine. There is no HMC and I'm not using LPAR. And also i used the same CDs to install 5.2 on a different 520 machine and did it successfully.

If you're running in full system partition mode, then there is nothing you should have to do to make the hardware available to the partition.

You may want to consider running diagnostics to make sure you don't have bad hardware. Make sure you run advanced diagnostics. I have seen situations were hardware passed basic diagnostics, but failed advanced diags.

You might what to check your server with ASMI too. I've written a pretty simple guide for connecting to your server with ASMI here: http://www.pseriestech.org/forum/tut...ystem-102.html
