Problem cloning system

Hi everyone,

I want to clone a AIX 5.2 system from a machine to another one.
So i modified bosinst.data and image.data files (according to future platform) before making mksysb on old platform.
After booting on CD and restoring system using mksysb tape, the installation is launched but ever fails when mounting / with following messages :

Log[2]: rm: not found 27 Over mounting /.
No such file or directory
Log[5]: /var/adm/ras/bi.log: cannot create

INIT: EXECUTING /sbin/rc.boot 2

INIT: SINGLE USER MODE

INIT: FATAL ERROR IN /usr/bin/sh
XIX s-shell

Can anyone help me ?

Many thanks in advance,

Fred

The install CD is not the right one. I believe that the ML installed on the server and the ML on the CD is different. Use the latest media!!!

Hi,
That's right !
So, i had to make on the same disk an installation with preservation of AIX 5.2 ML4 and then upgrade to ML7.
And, it works not so fine as i have to reinstall some bundles.
But, the system has the same config as ths old one (tcpip, crontab, ....)

Does anyone know how to create an boot CD of AIX 52 ML7 with an install CD of AIX 5.2 ML4 and an upgrade CD to ML7 ?

Thanks
