Hello Forum,

I am very newbie with AIX.
We have 2 AIX 9111-285 servers. The OS version is 5.3.
After the power outage, they did not come up.
I try to unplug the power cable and re-connect after 1 minutes but do not help.
Both display the same reference code 110000AC on the front panel console, linking green power LED and solid amber for !. Nothing is displayed on the monitor.

Any hints will be appreciated.

Once again press Power button after you see code 110000AC.

In short, there is a power failure - which you stated. However, they may still be a missing powerlink inside and/or your powersupply is not working properly.

Go to the link and see if there are other hints re: this series of codes.

As it has a service processor I would look at that interface. The difficulty will be the 40-bit https encryption for the web-interface.

A very different model POWER5 - but I wrote up some of my first demos that may help you with the ASMI (Advanced Systems Management Interface) if you have never used it before.

Assuming you have never used (connected an IP cable) to the service processor ports they have IP address 192.168.2.147 and 192.168.3.147 (Power6 changed to 169.254.2.147 and 169.254.3.147). If you have connected them, and you have a DHCP server, they will have taken an address from the DHCP server.

Because it is POWER5 - to access the web interface you will need an old browser. I am still using FF17 because of this (People seem to not understand that while having so-called low-encryption is a potential risk to security in a 'global/hostile' - not having it at all is a definite security breach (of availability) in a closed environment.)

Anyway, I hope with the IP addresses - and this link ROOTVG - AIX, LinuxOnPower & POWER Systems Portal - POWER: Movies to my initial movies (I do not speak, so nothing wrong with your speaker) you will be able to make some forward motion.

From memory - the default user/password for ASMI is admin/admin.

one of the machine is booting up and stop at diagnostics screen. When I run the diag, the result is 110000AC - Power/Cooling subsystem ...

With your extra code I also found this link: 9111-520 AIX server power-on problem - IBM: AIX - Tek-Tips - which in short indicates there is a problem with a power supply - if I read that correctly.

re: your new code - while this link is for Power7 - the meaning of the code has not changed -> IBM Knowledge Center ignore the page title - it is the frame you want!

Basically, is says "Perform isolation procedure FSPSPC1"

Resetting the service processor on systems with a physical control panel 
If the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI) is available, reset the service processor using the ASMI menus.Were you able to use the ASMI menus to reset the service processor?
 No: Continue with the next step.
 Yes: This ends the procedure.

Activate the service processor pinhole reset switch on the system's operator panel by carefully performing these steps:
Using an insulated paper clip, unbend the clip so that it has a straight section about two inches long.
Insert the clip straight into the hole, keeping the clip perpendicular to the plastic bezel.
When you engage the reset switch, you should feel the detent of the switch.
Pressing the reset switch resets the service processor and causes the system to shut down.

Reboot the system in slow mode from the permanent side using control panel function 02 or the ASMI menus, if available.
If the hang repeats, check with service support to see if a firmware update is available that fixes the problem. For more information, see Getting fixes.

The quick text is - FSP (Full Service Processor) needs a reset after a Power Failure. Worst case is you will need to reinstall the firmware.

Been there - done this!

Engineering call, I would suggest.

If you are dual power, check that it is actually getting it right up to the point where you plug the cables into the PDU or at least the back of the machine if there is an internal cable that then plugs in the front (depending how it is built for engineering access)

If you have dual service processors, can you tell with ASMI if they are both working? You should have separate physical connections too.

I found this with the POST codes. It's a bit of a monster at 300 pages, but it might help you get to sleep.
