lost root password in AIX

Hi how do you reset the root password in AIX.

I booted to single user mode and it asked for login and password.

I have AIX 4.3.

aix 4.3? have you tried booting into maintenance mode?

hai

just try booting with cd and you will get three options,,,just go for maintenance mode ,,i am not remmebering the exact options after that you will get prompt,you can easily reset roots password using passwd command

Though it is not recommended and banned in this forum ...
... you could search and try exploits, 4.3 is pretty old and should not be hard to crack
