Printing to a Savin - Size of output wrong
Hello, I am trying to print reports from our aix system to a Savin Printer. The trouble is that the reports come out enlarged on it. The same report comes out fine though on a regular laser printer or pick ticket printer. Windows prints fine to the savin, Its just from our AIX system and programs run on it that print funny. How can I change the default size for reports that are sent to the Savin so that they are correctly scaled?

How is your Savin setup? PCL? PostScript (if it supports it)? Does it talk JetDirect or LPD, etc.?
I am going to assume you are using PCL and either talking JetDirect, or you have it setup using LPD but with local processing. Become Root. Run "smitty". Select "Print Spooling". Select "Change/Show Print Queue Characteristics". Enter your print queue's name. You are prompted with 4 options. It's the 2nd or 3rd one. You can pick the font size, etc. If you are using PostScript, I recommend you download "enscript". You can pick any font and size you want, orientation, etc. Lots of options. |
