Hi all,
We are receiving huge number of "Receive Errors" on our database server on AIX. Any pointers to troubleshoot would be really appreciated.

Transmit and Receive Errors

Indicate number of output/input errors encountered on this device. This field counts unsuccessful transmissions due to hardware/network errors.
These unsuccessful transmissions could also slow down the performance of the system.
I suggest to start to isolate the problem as soon as possible if it doesn't lie within your sever , NIC and cables then it might be your network hardware equipments such switches , cables and so on.

You have created NIB etherchannel with primary interface on ent2 and ent4? or is there another interface aggregated together with ent2?
Have you tired to failover to secondary interface?
You can do it online (smitty etherchannel)

Are you sure that on switch side they did not configured etherchannel between those 2 ports ?
This could explain receive errors, switch is trying to send packages to both ports and only one wants to receive.

how looks pinging to something do you have any packet lost?

Have you checked the error report to see if ent2 is giving errors as it appears that ent2 is having problems.
