Disk upgrade problem

I've tried to upgrade the 9gb drives in our F50's to 18gb. The system with original drives would boot up in about 4 min., but with the 18gb drives takes 17 min. Running 4.2.1. What am I missing here??

do you note any errors at bootup? is everything the same when booting up like when you had the 9gb drives in?

Don't recall any errors, will try again when I get machine access. This also happened when I tried upgrade on our 43P. Took about 20 min to bootup.

What are the drive part #'s? Not all drives are created equally...

Cheers,

Quantum Atlas III, TD18J011. I'll try some different drives as time permits, systems are in use 24/7. Thanks.

Wink

OK, the drive was the problem! Tried a Seagate ST318437 and boot times are in 'normal' range. Thanks.
