remote printer

please, i would like to know ,how can i use a remote printer shared by a jet direct or which strg may use to connect with a remote printer using ip and windows network

1) add the ip and hostname of the printer in /etc/hosts
2) you can use smit to add it to your devices.

i use smit to configure my remote HP printers that use Jet Direct cards.

this adds a hp Laser Jet 4000 to my aix machine w/ the queue name of hpqda02

/usr/lib/lpd/pio/etc/piomkjetd mkpq_jetdirect -p 'hplj-4000' -D pcl -q 'hpqda02' -h 'hpqda02' -x '9100'
