FTP file to Mainframes
Hi,
Can somebody please share a sample Korn shell script that will FTP a file from an Unix box to a region in Mainframe.It will be of great help if i can get this script ASAP.Or atleast give me a hint on how to do it.

If I have to deduce record width within this file, each approach we are finding different record width.

Hi,
I have one file to FTP from Unix to mainframe. It has been successfully FTPied. But problem is my Unix file will be generated as file_name1.sh. But Mainframes side they need file in file.name1.sh. So they dont need underscore (_) in the file name. Please let me know if there is any solution... (1 Reply)

Iam new to unix.I have 3 files to be FTPied to Mainframe from Unix(Sun Solaries Unix). Sample record in one file is as shown below.

NAME
initscript - script that executes inittab commands.
SYNOPSIS
/bin/sh /etc/initscript id runlevels action process
DESCRIPTION
When the shell script /etc/initscript is present, init will use it to execute the commands from inittab. This script can be used to set
things like ulimit and umask default values for every process.
EXAMPLES
This is a sample initscript, which might be installed on your system as /etc/initscript.sample.

# wants to spawn like this:

# /bin/sh /etc/initscript <id> <level> <action> <process>
#
# Set umask to safe level, and enable core dumps.

This script is not meant as startup script for daemons or somesuch. It has nothing to do with a rc.local style script. It's just a handler
for things executed from /etc/inittab. Experimenting with this can make your system un(re)bootable.
