interesting that someone else has encountered the same thing. Yes, your solution has come to mind. But that will be a last resort. At the moment I haven´t got the space to create extra partitions. I need to get a new HD to backup things.

This partition that is lost to w2k has just been a normal drive, it never had w2k installed on it.

The partimage thing looks interesting, will keep it in mind for the future. It says it´s NTFS support is experimental though, maybe that was why it didn´t work for you?
