"cannot display this video mode"
I have a Sun Blade 150 that I'm trying to connect to my Dell 1901FP LCD monitor. However, when I connect the workstation to the monitor and power up the workstation, the only thing I get on the screen is "cannot display this video mode". This workstation works fine connected to an CRT monitor.
I tried modifying the video settings w/ a different resolution and refresh rate (ie. m64config -res 1152x864x75 nocheck now -depth 32), but this didn't help. Would Xfree86 offer any help with this? Thanks. |

Culprit...
My problem was due to the fact that I was using a Avocent Switchview KVM. When I plugged the workstation into the monitor directly, all was well. Apparently, my Switchview model doesn't support multiple platforms. They make a different model called the Switchview MP that does support multiple platforms. Problem is, I paid $20 for the standard Switchview and the MP model cost like $350 w/ cables. Can't justify buying the MP model with that type of cost difference.
Does anyone know of a lower cost, reliable 4-port KVM that will support different platforms (ie. WinXP, Solaris & Linux)? Thanks. |
