Same here.... I changed an XP Pro admin password and, for some odd reason, when I logged out, it would not accept the new password to get back in!
I used the link above and created a linux boot floppy with a utility that allowed me to blank the password in the XP SAM file. ...... showing that (on XP like UNIX/Linux) with physical access, password files are easy to edit, when necessary. I am glad. It would have been a nightmare if I could not have found a way back in! |

In XP it is possible to reset lost or forgotten password using Active@ Password Changer utility. it is a really useful tool that never failed me before and worked simply great. It is really awesome, you should defiantely try it. http://www.password-changer.com/ |

the gratest soft for changing admin (or another user) on winxp/win2k/win2k3 is NT Offlile Password Recovery And Registery Editor (http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/)
Or ERD Commander. It's more powerfull unlike some thing else =) But not free =( |
