Printing under UNIX
Hi All
As UNIX newbie, (I know Open VMS very well) I have the following question:
If I use the lpr command for printing, I normally specify the printer name an the file I want to print. So far so good. Once this is done I can than check with the lpstat command the status of my printjob, but unfortunately I can only see the printer, userid and jobid, but I canīt see the original file name anymore (as I would under Open VMS). The problem now is, if that user letīs say submitted about 100 jobs for printing and I am asked to delete a specific job (file) this becomes very difficult, since I donīt see anymore the relation between the jobid and the filename. Is there a way to either gather the jobid when I use the lpr command or is there a command which shows me the whole information including the filename ? Many thanks for any hints and tipps. Regards Artur
