backup unix files from a windows machine
hello guys ,
Is there a way to backup unix files from a windows 2003 server i have a tape drive in the unix box but just for extra security what would be the best way to backup unix files . Thanks a lot |

Try using a remote desktop system to gain access into your unix box and from there do a backup. You can use a remote desktop system such as VNC to do it. acctually i just remeber VNC right now but i think you can find another one that will support multiple OS.
Another way is to learn the commands to backup from the command line and then use telnet that will grant you access to the unix machine's terminal. |

Don't use telnet. Use SSH instead, since it encrypts your session, password and all.

SSH is not available in windows But Telnet is.
