I need to know if this command

echo NEWPASSWORD | passwd --stdin USERNAME

that works fine on Red Hat Linux, is also available on other Unix/Linux machines (AIX, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, SunOS, Mandrake, Debian, Gentoo, Lindows, Slackware, Xandros, HP-UX, IRIX, SCO, MacOS, BSDi ...).
