Operating Systems Solaris Xserver won't come up on Solaris 8 Post 46201 by Gravity on Saturday 10th of January 2004 03:01:40 PM

Ah....

After some further investigation I've discovered that the fonts problem as found in Xerrors doesn't appear to have much to do with the problem.

For some reason non-root-user .dtprofile files were owned by root. I changed them over to the user, and all was well.

For those interested in the solution to the original problem (the Xserver not coming up), I changed the /var/TIMEZONE file - changing all occurences of iso8859-15 to iso8859-1.

Thanks for all your help chaps Smilie
