Angry Can't start nfs server!

ok i am pretty new i am thinking this maybe a dns situatioan i dunno....

i am trying to start nfs server i get the followin error:

mountd[683] svc_tli create could not bind to requested address: address mismatch

svc_create: svc_tli_create failed

/usr/lib/nfs/nfsd [685]: tli_bind to wrong address
cannot establish nfs service over /dev/udp: transport setup problem

can someone please help me with this?

you need to take the "nfs" entry back into your /etc/services file :

this doc describes it

Unhappy

i check the /etc/services the 2 entries for nfs are there i am not running either nis and nfs server still won't start.....

any other ideas?

This is a real longshot, but check
/etc/net/ticlts/hosts
/etc/net/ticots/hosts
/etc/net/ticotsord/hosts

All three should have the name of the box.

Hi,

The doc describes a lot of possible causes for the error you describe. Did you read the whole doc ? F.E. lockd should be in there, and many more issues.
