Apache on Linux vs Windoze Performance
Ok, I have a wireless hook to my house.
From here at work, I can get 680+Kb from my Linux box running Apache. (stock version of apache, no modifications) Now, when I pull data from my Win2k box running Apache, I can't seem to get more than 65Kb from it... Both are stock Apache's with no modifications made to the .conf files. Any help/pointers/webpage to help me with this? (I know, I know, I should just be using the Linux box but there are times when I do need to pull stuff from my windows box... Thanks for any help you can provide. |

I'm not sure if we can help you. But if we try, we will need to avoid Microsoft bashing as per the rules.
How equivalent are the two boxes? What version of windows? This sounds like a 10mb verses 100mb ethernet issue. I have never used wireless so I don't know how possible that is. But make sure that network connections are both equal. |

I am pretty sure that the latest and greatest wireless standard 802.11g maxes out at 54mb...
