If you installed it with the GUI's then when you come up to the login you should log in and be taken into the GUI environment. But, try this.

Come to the login screen and press alt-s to select the interface you prefer, depending on weather you installed it with gnome or KDE or both.

GNOME shell provides core user interface functions for the GNOME 3 desktop, like switching to windows and launching applications.
