When it comes to Multiple CPU support, FreeBSD would be the first to tell that the maximum numbers of CPU's supported on a X68 motherboard would depend on the type of Bios chipsets that are on your motherboard.
The best way to find out is to E-mail the FreeBSD SMP centre: freebsd-smp@freebsd.org with the full spec of the motherboard you want to use and they would suggest the right platform. There are lots of PDF files with vital information on CPUID addressing for the different architecture of FreeBSD (e.g. AX, EAX, RAX ) at www.freebsd.org |
