Hi...
Can any1 help me by telling me the way to create multiple directories using single command....
to create 1 directory.. mkdir is used.... :D
but how to create multiple direcs. like 4 direc.
i tried ....
$ mkdir a; mkdir b; mkdir c; mkdir d

when i give cd $short_name, it should take to the above path.

Iam new to UNIX...My requirement is to create 3 dir as an hierarchy under /var/opt/temip.The output should be /var/opt/temip/GP_Int/GPTTS/AUTO.
I have tried the following script...But only GP_int folder is getting created and not other folders...Can someone help???

I have a sql file which has CREATE and INSERT commands in it. Basically, inside this file, a table will be created and the data will be inserted into the table. I was wondering if there is a way for me to create directories from this file?

Using grep command, i want to find the pattern of text in all directories and sub-directories.
e.g: if i want to search for a pattern named "parmeter", i used the command

xdg-user-dir - Get the path used for desktop user directory location. SYNOPSIS
xdg-user-dir DIR DESCRIPTION
xdg-user-dir is a utility that extracts the location of the specified desktop user directory from the file : ${HOME}/.config/user-dirs.dirs OPERANDS
Valid desktop directories (DIR) are: DESKTOP DOWNLOAD TEMPLATES PUBLICSHARE DOCUMENTS MUSIC PICTURES VIDEOS If an invalid directory is requested ${HOME} is returned. ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
See environ(5) for descriptions of the following environment variables: HOME. Other environment variable that are used are: XDG_CONFIG_HOME Base directory for storge of XDG configuration files. Defaults to ${HOME}/.config FILES
