but NEO, its better if they GUI it, because no one here likes command line, so getting them to look for libraries online 
.... I wish I knew how to write my own codes, I am still working on shell scripting 
couple of weeks back someone used GUI to remove the FS, and when it didnt work because it was still mounted he tried to use a batch of incorrect commands, I had to go over and make him run fsck before unmounting the entire thing.
and u know the best part? my superior wanted to know if its good practice to avoid FS scans across reboots because it took longer than 10 mins to reboot a heavily loaded server.
of course i tell him yes

To add to this, it is an effective security measure to clear absolutely all cached data (cookies, web content, ....) when closing the browser - i.e. in case of a shutdown. It takes a bit of work to re-login to all the sites but websites will not... (7 Replies)

clri -- clear an inode SYNOPSIS
clri special_device inode_number ... DESCRIPTION
Clri is obsoleted for normal file system repair work by fsck(8). Clri zeros out the inodes with the specified inode number(s) on the filesystem residing on the given special_device. The fsck(8) utility is usually run after clri to reclaim the zero'ed inode(s) and the blocks previously claimed by those inode(s). Both read and write permission are required on the specified special_device. The primary purpose of this routine is to remove a file which for some reason is not being properly handled by fsck(8). Once removed, it is anticipated that fsck(8) will be able to clean up the resulting mess. SEE ALSO
