with audit, a sample configuration I have done a few months ago
the file to audit is /db2/SID/sqllib/db2systm in this case

Code:
hostname:/etc/security/audit--# cat objects
/db2/SID/sqllib/db2systm:
       r = "FILE_Open"
       w = "FILE_Open"



nohup  /usr/sbin/auditstream | nohup auditpr -v > /fs/audit/stream.out &

audit enable
audit start

the events are logged in /fs/audit/stream.out



you need to be root to update these files

I am trying to use awk to match the NM_ in file with $1 of id which is tab-delimited. The NM_ will always be in the line of file that starts with > and be after the second _. The audit_data file contains information about the audit daemon. The file contains the process ID of the audit daemon, and the pathname of the current audit log file. The format of the file is: pid>:<pathname> Where pid is the process ID for the audit daemon, and pathname is the full pathname for the current audit log file. EXAMPLES
