Top Forums UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers How can I ftp to localhost from terminal ? Post 302320631 by methyl on Thursday 28th of May 2009 12:39:23 PM

Couple of ideas:
Look at the localhost entry in /etc/hosts . It should be the first non-comment line and look something like this:

Code:
127.0.0.1 localhost loopback

Also look to see if you have a .netrc file in your current directory containing garbage.
