Hello. Actually I would encourage you to pick-up a Sun Ultra 10 box. They can be had pretty cheaply on eBay. But you will need to use the older mini-din style keyboard.

Sun's version of Unix is called "Solaris." The current version is Solaris 10 and it can be downloaded for free from Sun's website.

Using a Sun box with the free OS will enable you to train in a native environment rather than using VMware and it won't cost you too much $.
