FTP logins are sent to syslogd. Check /etc/syslog.conf to see where your logs are going. Here is an example:

syslog:Jan 5 16:03:00 aixprod90 daemon:info ftpd[544796]: FTP LOGIN FROM aixue2.mydomain.com, sampleuser
