The best option I would suggest for you would be, installing solaris X86 on top of VMware. It would be usefull for you to practice or work on both OS at the same time... Just try else, go for it..

Pls what do you mean by cde environment. I know I can use vmware but shouldn't there be a way to dual boot successfully. This is about my fifth installation and i am gettin the same problem.
