ps -ax <--- x does not exist in solaris 10.

but i'm not exactly sure i understand this question. i believe solaris is bsd and system v or something like that... as far as if its bsd or unix... i would go with bsd as most commands are in the structure of ps -eaf or ls -lt.

what are you trying to do?
