What kind of desktop? Do you want an actual desktop environment or what? Have you even installed FreeBSD yet?

it all pretty much installs and configures itself. your main issue will probably be getting xorg configured. which is still very simple... given that you know hor/vert refresh rates and what video card you have. you have questions, i have answers.

I downloaded DesktopBSD1.6 and wanted to install it.
but it couldn't start X and gave me a shell ! I had once installed PCBSD and it didn't have any problems. any one having the same problem? or know what to do? |
