Exclamation ftp

Hi Experts,

I am building a csv extract file in my shell script. At the end of the script I have to ftp the file to a remote server.
I am using the code below:

REMOTE_USER_ID="app1"
REMOTE_USER_PWD="newpass1"
REMOTE_SERVER_PATH="/app1/soft/common_data_load/log"

## Logic for building the csv file

cd ${csv_filepath}
ftp -n ${REMOTE_SERVER} <<END_SCRIPT
quote USER ${REMOTE_USER_ID}
quote PASS ${REMOTE_USER_PWD}
cd ${REMOTE_SERVER_PATH}
put pc_extract.csv
quit
END_SCRIPT

exit 0

When I run this shell script I get the error below:

Login incorrect.
Please login with USER and PASS.
Please login with USER and PASS.
Please login with USER and PASS.

What can be wrong here? I am confident that the user/pass supplied is correct.
