Looks to me like you need to post this problem on the web site of, or a forum for the company that supplied the software, hitachi.com?
I agree this is a typical problem with HDLM but every time the solution seems to be different, ie it is not an AIX (forum) problem but a poor third party device driver problem.
Sadly, like their device drivers, the search function on their web site seems to give unpredictable results: The page cannot be displayed, The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties.
Maybe someone else on this forum has seen your problem and can help.
