I consider vacation as more than 2 weekdays... otherwise I would be almost out the poll...

I follow my young kids vacations:
for instance 2 week this Christmas-New year (2007-2008 that was)
Then Easter from Wed-goodfrdayand the following week..
3-4 weeks in summer
1 week autumn

A day the government or religion says is a no work day, is a Holiday, with a capital 'H'. If you can't work that day, even if you wanted to, that ain't no vacation.

An optional day you take off from work, whether spent away from home or not, is a vacation if you're American, or a holiday with a small 'h'.


That said, I get a total of 4 weeks to use as I wish, in addition to the typical Holiday days when the office is closed. I take some for the Jewish Holidays when the office is open and some for sick days.

yes, Holiday is one can say a 'official off' for some occasions as Christmas.

Because of the role I have in my job, i usually have about 8ish weeks of free time/time off work and about two weeks within the 8 as holiday, which is quite nice.
This year though i'll be doing my training/studying so i won't have any holidays but will have breaks no doubt between courses ect.

I put only one week vacation from my work.

I get 4 weeks and I take 4 weeks.... Though not all at once.. usually a couple weeks during summer and then during the holidays to visit family..
