which workstation do you use? Have you checked that you connected the drive on the same type of scsi card, which you have in the other workstation? Do you have the same release of hp-ux on both workstation? Do you have the same patch release?

In some cases, when i have connected a drive to an server ( mostly on hp a-class servers), i have to reboot the server cause in ioscan and insf i did not see the drive.

May you try to connect the drive, switch it on and after that, reboot your workstation.
