Mailx problem

I can send mail from my Sun Solaris 9 box via the mail gui no problem. If I try it from mailx command line, the mail doesn't send. What might be causing this?

thanks.

An example of the command line you are using would narrow down the possibilities considerably.

Sorry, I'm just using a simple test mailx command:

server1{root}:$PWD=> mailx <E-mail address>
Subject: tester
tester body
EOT
server1{root}:$PWD=>

If I use the mail gui on the CDE on the server (logged in also as root) and compose & send an e-mail, it works fine.

But if I use the command line, it doesn't.

No luck, same results. That's the weird thing, how is the underlying setup of mail different between what the mail gui (in the common desktop environment) and a command like like mailx??

Thanks!
