mount LVM duplication drives

. and use the clone disk as free disk space.You have 2 disks, one is larger (backup disk) than the other (primary disk) from what i understand.
In that case, you will partition the primary disk as you wish, but will make them Software RAID volumes. On disk 2 - the backup - you'll create the exact same partitions of the same size, with partition type = Software Raid.
At this point you have one disk fully allocated - the primary, and one which is an exact copy (man sfdisk for the easy way to make an exact copy) plus some free space at the end. Go ahead and create an extra partition for the free space, this will be your backup area.
Configure the software raid (there's thousands of docs on this so i wont repeat), configure your boot loader to boot disk 2 if disk 1 fails, then setup your backup process (rsnapshot?) to backup to the "spare" partition at the end of disk 2.
Hope this helps you see the concept & a more workable way to achieve.

Hello,
I have install 2 HDD in my server and now installing the Centos6.4.
I want create the LVM of those 2 HDD's so while i'm doing this it is not allowing me to select these 2 disk's from allowable disk list.
Same problem if i tried to make Software RAID with creating LVM.

I download and install lessfs for deduplication,
I copy files in /SharedFiles directory and lessfs work right and not store again copy files,
but, when i delete all files in /SharedFiles , not return free space to total space,

The Media Management System (MMS) is a distributed removable media management system based on the IEEE 1244 Media Management System speci- fication. MMS provides a uniform and consistent tape interface to client applications. The dda driver is a pseudo tape drive with filesystem file media. The dda driver is a minimal emulation of the st(7D) tape driver mtio(7I) interface with BSD no-rewind behavior and is used for MMS disk archiving. The dda driver should be used with a MMS MMP mount command han- dle. You configure DDA tapes, drives, and libraries for disk archiving using the mmsadm(1M) command. You also use mmsadm(1M) to mount and unmount dda media. CONFIGURATION
To set the number of disk archiving tape drives available for MMS disk archiving, edit the /kernel/drv/dda.conf configuration file. The default number of disk archiving tape drives is 20. The disk archiving tape drive devlinks are located in the /dev/dda directory. The DDA maximum block size is 262144 bytes and the minimum is 1 byte. FILES
