Printer Setup Issues
We have several printers setup to send the print file to a specific IP address and place in a specific folder based on printer selection (this is a Win2000 Server). The issue we are having is before sending the file, I do a lpstat for the printer and it shows ready and waiting. We send the job to the printer...the print job sit forever in the queue and shows that the destination is down and is waiting for it to come up.

We have in the past restarted the print service and sometimes the files will release, but that has not worked the last couple of times.

We are pretty much stumped any help/suggestions would be great

Does anybody know how to add a printer from network in Solaris 10 using IP settings? according to our IT support, in order to add this printer in Windows XP we introduce it as a local printer which is connected to a port with an IP address, like 128.79.44.110. NAME

       printers.conf - printer configuration file for cups

DESCRIPTION

       The  printers.conf  file  defines the local printers that are available. It is normally located in the /etc/cups directory and is generated
       automatically by the cupsd(8) program when printers are added or deleted.

       Each line in the file can be a configuration directive, a blank line, or a comment. Comment lines start with the # character.

DIRECTIVES

       <Printer name> ... </Printer>
	    Defines a specific printer.

       <DefaultPrinter name> ... </Printer>
	    Defines a default printer.

       Accepting Yes

       Accepting No
	    Specifies whether the printer is accepting new jobs.
