Need someone to help, MySQL problem, no root access

Hi! I have a website, and it's been down for a long time now, because MySQL died (www.3dkingdom.org). I need someone who can get me the root password of the server (I will find someone to take care of the MySQL database, because there is about 20 sites there and none of them have MySQL databases backed up). I have my own username and password (to prove that I actually am not trying to hack the server).

Please note, I am only looking for people who know how to get the root password, nothing more, nothing less.

Me&another guy both have accounts at this server and the owner of the server will agree to this.

We need someone simply because the MySQL died and the guy who has root access and normally takes care of these things has vanished into thin air and we can't find him.

Please help,

hp

You don't put enough information - what is the OS ? Did you search this site for how to get root back when it's been forgotten (I think I've seen almost every different OS asked about already so it should be documented - you just have to search).

On most UNIX, you can't 'get' the root password. You have to break in and set it to nothing, or to something new.

You would probably have to do it yourself since:
1. Most OS's have to be booted to a single user mode (which means no network connections are up)
2. You will have to load the cd or tape to boot from (to single user) AND shutdown the server - which means you have to be there.

You might be better off to try to find a person locally - are you in Sarajevo?

Server is in Florida. We don't have physical access to the server.

It is running RedHat 7.2.

Is there someone in Florida to do the work?

See this post for booting Redhat to single user after root password isn't known.

One problem though.... I can't shutdown from my account. No way. I can't do the thing described there. The owner of the server has given consent, so you will not be arrested or sumthin.

This calls for a real hacker....

Physical access to the server is needed for anyone to do this and authorization from the owner would be needed - not just a message on a forum. What ever company owns the server needs to do what it must to get the password back - there are many consulting firms that have the folks to do this.

If you are looking to hack a server this isn't the place to ask.
I asked if you were in Sarajevo - this is why I asked:

That is the guy who works on the website on me....

Look on www.3dkingdom.org

Send a e-mail to hp and I will respond....

The actual owner of the server is www.bihferrariklub.com

He has agreed to this (you may ask him as well)...
