Sun Monitor

This Sun system is having some problems for some time ..
When the m/c was booted first , it showed the CDE login on the screen . So far so good
The trouble starts now . After say one hour of remaining in that state the monitor goes blank . Thats acceptable ..i think it goes to powersave . But moving the mouse has to bring the screen back to life .. But it never does . At first i tght it was the monitor problem so i used a different / perfectly working monitor for the job.. but , with the same results .

Is there some default settings here that i need to change , or am i overlooking some major problem here ...

Need to Find out ..

Hi Jai,
Are you still able to telnet into the box even after the monitor goes dead? This may sound incredibly stupid to ask, but is the power for the Sun box still on? Sun has a powersave mode where the system "shuts down" if there is no activity for N minutes. This is configurable and the default is for this to be on when you install Solaris. It is possible your system is going into powersave mode and the reason your monitor isn't coming back on is because the system is actually off.
Just a thought,
TioTony

Hi Jai,
I was just talking with Doeboy and he seems to remember something about that card having an issue like your describing. He thinks there is a software patch of some kind to fix this.
Thanks,
TioTony

Do you know the patch number for this problem ..
I browsed the Sun site for this so called error .. Also installed the recommended patch for FFB , but to no avail ...
